Vakarufalhi Island Resort is a small resort surrounded by towering palm trees and is the epitome of the tropical idyll. This resort was created only a few years ago, meaning that all the structures are new and modern. It is a very small resort, but has much to offer to guests who decide to go on holidays here. The lagoon is very shallow, clear and sandy, and offers a prime location for swimming and water sports. Because of the shallow depth of the lagoon, windsurfers may need to venture further out during times of low tide. Sunbathing is another popular activity on this picturesque beach.
The atmosphere on Vakarufalhi is very relaxed and meal times are quiet and reserved rather than loud and full of laughter. Many claim that Vakarufalhi Island is turning into the perfect family holiday resort as it has yet to develop a personality.
A great range of activities
There is much to do on Vakarufalhi Island; enough to keep anyone going. The lagoon offers great swimming, sunbathing and water sports as mentioned previously. However, the house reef is also very close to the beach, which provides an excellent snorkelling opportunity to those who wish to try it. Such close proximity to the beach makes it an excellent beginner's snorkelling ground.
Although the island is located near the edge of a very popular diving atoll, the dive school is not heavily used which may be because of the family population of guests. However, there are two daily boat dives if there are enough guests to permit it. In the future, this could become a prime spot for hardcore divers, but as it remains at the present time, diving is not very popular. Nightlife is usually quiet and relaxed with no scheduled entertainment.
Modern and attractive rooms with excellent food
As Vakarufalhi is a fairly new resort, the rooms are terrific, sturdy and modern. They offer many typical amenities and of the fifty rooms, twelve are dual rooms that are designed for families. The others are stand alone bungalows with a wonderful round shape. The rooms have been described as classy and offer a typical Maldivian thatched roof for added atmosphere.
The restaurant, bar and reception area are beautiful with coral and thatch decorations and tones. The food served has a great variety with set plates, Maldivian locally inspired buffets and a Western buffet. All guests are on full board, and there is an option of beverages to go with this plan as well. Of course, all inclusive holidays are offered to guests who may want the convenience.
Vakarufalhi Island Resort is fast becoming one of the better family resorts in the Maldives as it has time to grow and the management has time to put their unique touch on this beautifully nature designed area.
