The Sun Island Resort and Spa is considered one of the biggest and best resorts that the Maldives has to offer. It was opened with a large ceremony and celebration that marked the beginning of this huge resort capable of accommodating more than 350 guests.

Water or beach bungalows
Sun Island offers deluxe and super deluxe rooms on the beach that overlook the beautiful lagoon and offer a wonderful view of the Indian Ocean. The water bungalows are offered in deluxe and the famous Presidential Suite version. They both contain their own stairs to the beautiful and protected waters of the beach. All rooms have the typical amenities such as a hairdryers, mini bars, outdoor showers and some even offer bidets. The food is served buffet style in a main restaurant that is partially open to the air. If fact, there are a number of restaurants, grills and bars scattered through Sun Island.
